Ants Testing Non Violence of Monks

Buddhism is a religion of nonviolence and the monks in the faith have to take a vow of nonviolence and never hurt a living thing. I would assume this also means they are vegetarians and probably vegans. What a shame. Anyhow, the monks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia have a problem. They have an infestation of red ants which are stinging the monks, and causing many problems. The monks are trying to figure out how to rid the monastery of the ants without killing them. I'm pretty sure that it is not possible. One of the methods they tried, which seems like it would hurt the animals, was sucking up the ants into a vacuum. That didn't work. One of the worshippers at the temple got bit so bad that he had to get hospital treatment. I'm just not understanding why they are doing this. Why don't they just kill the stupid things. It's seems unhealthy to let the ants stay there. It's funny some of the legalistic dumb rules that some religions have. I guess it helps them for some of the time, but at this time I think they should forget about the vow and KILL THE ANTS!! I'm sure they won't get too many demerits.

didn't you see "the ant bully?" it's obvious if they killed the ants, they would be shrunk down and learn a very valuable lesson.
